The Colorado Sound – V4 EP44 November 2012

Always love this time of year.  If you have been keeping track, anything new that comes out now is a 2013 release.  Here in a few weeks I’ll be compiling picks for the BEST OF 2012 chart and year end program.  If you’re involved in the scene locally, and you think you know what’s up with Colorado music, hit me up for a full list of all 2012 releases I’ve been tracking.  New music in this week from Honkytonk Homeslice, the SCI band featuring Bill Nershi and his wife along with  Scott Law and some friends.  Also picked up the new Devotchka record Live with the Colorado Symphony that’s pretty bad ass.  The Hollyfelds got their new disc to me this week – and it will no doubt launch them into their 5th Westword Music Award – and thereby push them into the Westword Music Hall of Fame since it would be their fifth win.  ENJOY the videos … picked 12 from the show this week … about 50 mins.

Some great new music came in this week.  Alan & Martin are out of Salida – I don’t get much from down that way.  They’ve got a very cool classic sounding honky tonk number in this week’s show that does bring to mind some of Dwight Yoakam’s tunes.  Also really been getting into the new Mega Gem album – that Marquee Mag publisher Brian Johnson called “…the most intoxicatingly happy album of 2012.”  Lots of new music in the show this week .. so I hope you’ll go to the sites I’ve linked to and check out more of what’s going on.  The video playlist is a sampling of this week’s show .. right around 45 minutes.
