Colorado Playlist S10 EP08

New Music Monday =

The Jekylls, Rebecca Folsom, Option4 w/ Rose Quartz and Wilson Harwood (Rocktin Grove) … I’ve got new music coming next week from emerging band on the scene Mama Magnolia .. also new next week = The Patient Zeroes, Blue Rider and more

So, I did try to post up last Monday.  I was in New Jersey for a couple of days, unfortunately without access to my computer.  I learned that radio sucks in South Jersey …nothing even approximating what we have here in Colorado.  I did buy the XM option in my rental car.  LOL  Colorado ROX when it comes to radio formats.  Well, Colorado pretty much rox all the time …

My band GOATZ! is back for another season.  April 23 @ FOCOMX .. 5:15 @ Equinox in Fort Collins … a nice tight 45 minute set .. in a festival of some 250 acts from the region … one of my favorite festivals of the year.

ALSO COMING!  THE 10th ANNIVERSARY PARTY of the Colorado Playlist (The Colorado Sound) … June 5th … Mishawaka Amphitheatre… lineup TBA .. but yes, GOATZ! will be appearing.  Details TBA.

GOATZ! will also be appearing at the 9th Annual Carbon Valley Music & Spirits Festival on Aug 6.

The Colorado Playlist S10 EP06

It was a great week for new releases from MILES WIDE, HELLO DOLLFACE, WONDERLIC, SHEL, ADRIENNEO, SAM LEE, and ELEPHANT REVIVAL …. there’s a great version of Enter Sandman, the Metallica classic, on the new SHEL album that I’ll share in next week’s show.

Sometimes I get lost.  If you’ve followed me, you know I’m still in the deepest grief stages of losing my wife to cancer on Feb 2.  Friends and professionals both have told me to be easy on myself … to not worry about getting lost right now.  For that, I’m grateful.  Here’s this week’s playlist and new music shares.

Don’t forget … KUNC is no longer airing the show — it has been moved to 105.5 The Colorado Sound.  It airs at 10AM Sunday morning (hour 2 of show) and it airs at 10PM Sunday nights (both hours of show).

Season 10 | EP03 JAN 25 2016

The Broncos are going to the Super Bowl!  Yeah, I can’t help it.  Second to my love of music in Colorado I love Broncos football.  And yes, <sheepish grin>, I fell asleep for 10 mins during the 4th quarter and my daughter-in-law took a picture of that and posted it.  LOL.

I’m very excited for some of the events and opportunities focused on music and musicians and music industry support coming up here over the next several months regionally.

One of the biggest events, if not THE biggest event, of the year that’s focused on locally produced music is FoCoMX, held annually in April in Fort Collins.  The date for this year’s event – the 8th Annual – is April 22-23.

The unofficial kick off to the spring-fall festival season, FoCoMX features over 200 acts, spread across the city of Fort Collins.  The focus is on bands from Fort Collins / Loveland / Greeley, but over the past few years has expanded to include other regional acts.  Bands have until Feb 1 to get in an application, here.

Applications for the SpokesBUZZ Class of 2017 are now OPEN. The deadline for application submission isFebruary 26, 2016, at 5 p.m. Mountain Time.  Current and former SpokesBUZZ bands include The Yawpers, Grant Farm, Grim & Darling, Gasoline Lollipops, and many many others …
