This proclamation by Gov. Hickenlooper pretty sealed the deal this weekend for me.

Three days of doing sound at the UMS (Underground Music Showcase) + 1 evening of hosting the Bohemian Nights Thursday Night Live show with the Burroughs, and I have to admit I’m whipped. What a tremendous four day run .. with some of my major summer events still to come, including:
- Thursday Aug 3 = Bohemian Nights Thursday Night Live final show for 2017 w/ Chicano Heat
- Saturday Aug 5 = 10th Annual Carbon Valley Music & Spirits Festival f/ Cracker, Face Vocal Band, Chris Daniels & the Kings and more in Dacono (exit 235 off I25 .. head east 3 miles and look for the sky blue water tower)
- Sunday Aug 6 = 11th Anniversary of the Colorado Playlist at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre w/ My Blue Sky, Kerry Pastine & the Crime Scene, and GOATZ!
- Fri-Sun Aug 11-13 = 13th Annual Bohemian Nights at New West Fest
- Saturday Aug 19 = Wellington Main Street Concert Series w/ Hey Lady! (B52s Tribute)

The South Broadway Christian Church is one of the most requested and respected venues at UMS every year. Friday and Saturday produced excellent audiences and some exceptional showcases of talent. Prob’ly due more to the weather than anything else, Sunday – yeah, not so much. The highlights of the weekend were definitely the delectable harmonies of Whipporwill, and the powerful presentation put on by Pretty Mouth.
Call me late to the party on this band, that I only just heard about. Marie Litton is one of the most outstanding female rock vocalists of our area. The band showcases a sound that resonates with considerable dynamic range – moody, dark, powerful and accessible. Expect to hear more from them on the show this year. Be on the look for a new release from Pretty Mouth this fall.
MONDAY MORNING MUSIC MEETING
What you’ll find below are new songs on the show this week … listen and let me know which ones you think I should keep in the Colorado Playlist, and which I should delete.
NOTE: In order to be included in the MMMM poll, the band/artist must have an embeddable file available on SoundCloud, BandCamp, Reverbnation or YouTube.
