MONDAY Aug 16 2021 – This past weekend I had the honor and privilege to be one of the hosts of Bohemian Light Livestream along with my friend and colleague Margot Chobanian from 105.5 The Colorado Sound. Unfortunately, due to time and space constraints only thirteen of the originally scheduled forty-nine acts were included in the showcase.
Emerging folk acts Companion, fronted by twin sisters Joanna (Jo) and Sophia Babb, as well as Miranda Fling stood out among the newcomers, while KILTRO and Del Shamen (featuring members of the Subdudes, Firefall and E-Town) provided two of the exceptional full band performances of the weekend.
AEG PRESENTS has announced that as of OCT 1, all of their venues will require us to show proof of vaccination to attend shows. Those venues include the Mission Ballroom and Fiddler’s Green along with the smaller venues they manage in the region. Information at AEGPresents.com/health-policy.
Also over the weekend, Rolling Stone posted that “Live Nation will require all artists, crew and attendees show proof of full vaccination or a negative test at their venues and upcoming festivals starting October 4th.”
Veteran Denver talent buyer, sound engineer, musician and record label producer/owner Randall Frazier who has worked at Ophelia’s and the Walnut Room is now the new senior talent buyer and production manager for the Levitt Pavilion.

MONDAY Aug 09 2021 – This show is produced every Wednesday and broadcast every Saturday through the following Friday. I say that because Bohemian Light Music Festival announced it was canceled on Friday Aug 6, two days AFTER the show was produced and the day BEFORE it began airing statewide.
I asked a major talent agency booking agent friend of mine if he was seeing any other “closures” or cancellations around the region. He said, “I’ve just heard of a couple of smaller things in the Northeast pulling the plug last week. It feels like Groundhog Day all over again.” On the heels of that statement, the New Orleans Jazz Fest announced it was canceled.
Colorado’s Z2 Entertainment has announced it is requiring a vaccination card and/or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of attending shows at the Boulder Theater, the Fox Theater and the Aggie Theater (Fort Collins). Expect other venues to follow their lead.
