COLORADO TOP 30 FEBRUARY 2021

March 02 2021 – There are certain things that should never come as a surprise; Nathaniel Rateliff once again leading the weekly TOP 5 or monthly TOP 30 is one of those. The other is Indie 102.3 leading the state in the amount of Colorado music they feature monthly; hence most of the (D) entries for the month.

Obviously, not every (D) is because of Indie 102.3. Other stations along with the Colorado Playlist were responsible for the (D) status of titles from Five Iron Frenzy (#10), Antonio Lopez (#14), David William’s Trickster Carousel (#16) and Southwestern Colorado alternative and alt-country-rock stalwarts the Lawn Chair Kings (#19).

A new station has hit the Denver airwaves at 104.7FM – it’s called the Drop. I’ll be looking forward to adding whatever Colorado artist titles they spin over the next months.

Aside from the titles tracked here weekly and monthly, Roots Music Report also charts airplay for Colorado releases weekly. However, the titles charted there include many that were released years ago, making their charts slightly irrelevant when it comes to what NEW music djs in Colorado and around the world (terrestrial and Internet) are spinning.

CP S15 EP09 2021

March 01 2021 – Twenty days officially until spring! If things keep going as they have been there’s a good chance for expanded audiences at shows this summer.

We may not see fully packed music venues until late in the season, but I’m happy to be co-presenting some live shows with my home station, 105.5 The Colorado Sound.  Make sure to visit my FB pg for information.

Nathaniel Rateliff and The Grand Alliance hold onto the top two spots this week, with the latest from Five Iron Frenzy pushing its way into the #3 spot.  I fully expect to see Rateliff’s “Redemption” hold onto that top spot for the next few months.  The rest of the TOP FIVE will likely disappear by next week.

BIG NEWS this week = KSJD (Cortez, CO) will begin airing HR2 of the show on March 13th at 2PM.
