CP S14 EP17 2020

Monday May 04, 2020 – It’s been estimated that over 60% of us discover new music at free outdoor live music events put on in our local communities, while less than 40% discover new music at various types of indoor venues. Of course, that’s pre-COVID.

Now, Facebook has become the de facto source for live music, the audience left watching and engaging on our devices. These shows have also become a significant way we donate to local causes – from supporting our local artists, to supporting organizations feeding those who need it now the most.

Colorado legacy artist Hazel Miller is hosting a House Party For Hope on the Big Head Todd & the Monsters Facebook page on May 17th. Hazel’s live show from home will benefit the Inner City Health Center and Hunger Free Colorado.

The Colorado Playlist may be the largest collection of curated video playlists on YouTube!  Check it out and please subsribe.

VIDEO PICK OF THE WEEK

CP S14 EP15 2020

Monday April 20, 2020Happy 4-20, although I’m not really sure if that’s relevant any longer.  It’s almost impossible to go on social media now and not see a live streaming event being put on by musicians throughout the state (and the world for that matter).

As I learned on Saturday, our fans are quite willing to show their love by dropping some coins (and dollars) in the virtual tip jars.  To that end, I am grateful for the support of my friends that host the NoCO Live from Home Show, based out of Fort Collins.  And I’m especially grateful to those who dropped some dollars into my Venmo and PayPal accounts during my performance.

Speaking of support.  A huge thank you to the newest sponsor of the show.   Denver DrumZ.  Located on Colfax Ave, owner JB Running Bear Maroncelli is currently offering live streaming lessons for students of all ages and experience level.

The Colorado Playlist is fully dependent on financial support from its sponsors as well as donations from listeners.  Thank you for your contribution.

While we’re all experiencing a major loss of income and revenue, small businesses need a platform to inform listeners that you’re still open for business. In light of current economic concerns, I’d be very happy to discuss your messaging needs and how the Colorado Playlist can help.  I am currently offering special COVID-19 rates during the duration of this crisis.  Email me at coloradoplaylist@gmail.com

CP S14 EP14 2020

Monday April 13, 2020 If Easter in the traditional sense is about resurrection, I can only hope that our outdoor live music season is resurrected from all this isolation we’ve been experiencing.  That said, it was announced this past week that the long running Telluride Bluegrass Festival has been cancelled for this June as has the Pagosa Folk & Bluegrass Festival, and the Dark Sky Festival scheduled for late June in Westcliffe.
