News, Notes & Spins – Feb 1, 2011

It’s not just cold, it’s DAMN cold!  How our friends in the mountain valleys manage this on a more routine basis is beyond me  LOL.  Welcome to the first new spins chart of the new year … lots of debuts this month, including Tennis, John-Alex Mason, and DeVotchka in the top ten.  Not too much in the way of news and notes this month… but a reminder, if you’re a fan/listener – membership/fund drives are coming up soon.  I hope you’ll contribute.

News & Notes:

KBUT: Congratulations to new KBUT (Crested Butte) general manager Ryan Stringfellow.  Ryan brings with him many years of radio experience at KAFM Grand Junction, where he variously served as Program Director, General Manager, and Executive Director.  Ryan’s extensive experience in fundraising, programming, engineering, and community outreach (not to mention skiing, hiking, and biking) will make him a perfect fit at KBUT.

KDNK (Carbondale): Lynette O’Kane is now officially Assistant Music Librarian, and will be taking music calls and charting CMJ.  KDNK has a membership drive coming up in Feb.
