We were fortunate this week to break some new music that there are no videos or Soundcloud or Bandcamp hookups for .. or maybe “fortunate” is not quite the right word. Either way, new music shares in full will have to wait for another day.
The brand new Post Paradise, Bring it To Life (Side A), came in literally as I was producing the show, and the band was on stage doing a sound check I think in Kansas … It is one of the KUNC Colorado Music Spotlight tracks of the week … along with the latest from Trinity Demask from her upcoming new album Elemental. Trinity is still putting together a cd release show for the new album … no doubt it will be a good one – the album itself is clearly the strongest effort she’s put fort in the past several years of her career.
The KUNC Colorado Music Spotlight

Other new music this week comes from The Knew off their just released new album Schmew, Burnt Lips from Tropical Moon, Grim & Darling from their new album out this week Beauty Through Pain and a bit of a surprise from 75 year old jazz sax legend Charles McPhearson, himself not a Colorado artist, but whose latest album The Journey is aided by some of our best Colorado-based jazz players including tenor saxophonist Keith Oxman, pianist Chip Stephens, bassist Ken Walker, and drummer Todd Reid – it is indeed a very tasty post-bop record on the Colorado based Capri Records.
The Colorado Sound is supported by the generous contributions of Colorado organizations and businesses that promote art and culture, sound and music, in our state. I am very appreciative of their efforts and their support. I currently have very limited opportunities for new supporters of the show. If your business or organization fits, I’d like to hear from you. Please email me at thecoloradosound@gmail.com … all applications for support are considered, however, space is limited so I cannot accept everyone on board. Thank you to The Mishawaka Amphitheatre for their continuing support. The Colorado Sound proudly supports the efforts of SpokesBUZZ, a non-profit supporting the global visibility of Colorado sound and culture and developing the professionalism of our local artists.
Video Pick of the Week
Facing West is one of the freshest “youth” acts in the region right now … composed of two sisters, and a host of regional help including film producer and musician Tage Plantell who has also done videos for Andy Palmer and others …
