MISHAWAKA AWARDS $7700 IN ORGANIZATIONAL AND EVENT SPONSORSHIP

BELLVUE, Colo., February 20, 2018 — Mishawaka Amphitheatre will distribute $7700 to 16 award recipients via the venue’s Mish Initiative philanthropic program. Applicants for “Mish’n Booster” funding sought sponsorship support for a variety of organizations and events, with The Mish selection committee prioritizing submissions that aligned well with Mishawaka’s company values: music, community, integrity, sustainability and tolerance.

“Our Mish’n Booster program allows us to provide aid to events and organizations that mirror what we at The Mish hold near and dear,” said Dani Grant, Mishawaka Amphitheatre owner and general manager. “We know that sometimes it just takes an extra nudge to maximize momentum, and we’re happy to be able to offer help to these applicants.”

Sponsorships for talent fees to pay artists for local live music event performances and music video production topped the list of award recipients this year, but Mish’n Booster funding was also allocated for music industry mentorship, instruments, and other community and performing arts organizations. Grant added that a second round of Mish’n Booster funding would be made available in autumn, with the venue setting aside a total of $15,000 annually for assisting organizations and events. In addition to the direct cash sponsorship awards, the Mish’n Booster program also provides in-kind assistance in the form of nonprofit event space (complete with sound engineer) during the off-season, as well as silent auction donations.

Next, Mishawaka philanthropy will concentrate on its Mish Match program, to encourage employee philanthropy and service to nonprofit organizations. The application period for the next round of Mish’n Booster funding will open in September 2018.
