The Colorado Sound S9 EP24 2015

RDP_1271BWI’m baaaaack!  LOL.  It’s summer.  YAY!!  It’s about time .. now folks can commence on hatin on the heat LOL .  This time of year is more about what live music I’m diggin’ than what records I’m all about.  And this wkend really was the kickoff with the Westword Music Showcase.  You can catch a “review” of the acts I saw as soon as I’m able to convert the files and mash them up into something serviceable.

Last Thursday at the Bohemian Nights Thursday Night Live show, we had a perfect night for the legendary Shakedown Street now in its 27th year – and of course only one original member is still in the band after all this time.  Still though if you’re a deadhead, this band slays.

I spent a good part of my father’s day with Fred Gowdy, aka Freddi Love Gowdy, of Freddi-Henchi Band fame … and now of Chris Daniels & the Kings featuring Freddi Gowdy.  My conversation with Freddi will appear here and on the air in July as part of Offstage Beyond the Music.

I’m very excited to be presenting some very incredible Colorado talent this summer …

UPDATE – JUNE 15

Some how or another June has gotten the better of me, and stolen the time I normally devote to posting here.  Sorry for that.  Truly.  There was no new show this past week.  I was in New Jersey attending to family business.  I did, however, get to go to the Greeley  Blues Jam.  Gotta say, the Burroughs and the Frails stole the show on the Colorado music stage.

The Colorado Sound S9|EP22 2015

I got really lucky this past week.  I got enough time off that I was able to go out and sit in an audience.  Or two.  Or three …. or four?!

Mrs Goat and I managed to take in the CSO “Turn Over the Keys” on Thursday night, while Friday night was Jaden Carlson at Oskar Blues in Lyons, Saturday evening was the grand opening celebration at Might Fine Production and recording studio .. and Sunday we got in a little bit of Pete Kartsounes with Michael Kirkpatrick (Telluride Troubadour of the Year Winner 2014). at Homemade Liquids and Solids in Longmont.

pics from the CSO show and from MFP.

No new music shares this week.  Sorry.
