Monday July 22, 2019 …. Really, I’m not here. I’m fishing with my grandson. But the show must go on and I’m doing my part, even if it’s from the lake.

I’ve added a couple more titles to the Colorado Playlist on Spotify. Please let me know if there’s something I’ve overlooked. I’m up to 102 titles from 102 artists and bands. And, I’m up to 27 followers the last I looked. I’ll tinker with this for months and perhaps years to come. Please share with your friends.

WORTH REPEATING: Wind Over the Earth is a recording studio in Longmont. On July 1 they began releasing an 18 song compilation benefiting the Longmont High School music program. The album features cuts from Foxfeather, Shanna in a Dress, Clandestine Amigo, Taylor Sims (Bonnie & the Clydes), Bridget Law (Elephant Revival) and Natalie Tate to name just a few. According to studio owner, Mark Venezia, the album will be made available for a donation to the Longmont High School music program.

CP S13 EP27 2019

Monday July 15, 2019 – Rumors started to circulate recently on Facebook (yeah, I know – right?) that Colorado Music Hall of Fame band Sugarloaf had dropped tracks for a new album.  Of course original members Jerry Corbetta (lead singer), Bob Yeazel (guitarist) and Bob Raymond (bassist) have all passed away, so the news of some kind of Sugarloaf “reunion” came as a real surprise.  Turns out the story has a little truth to it .. .from a family of the band perspective.

According to Bob Raymond‘s son Aaron, “We did go into studio with my son (Bailey Raymond aka Kick Stevens) and re-recorded Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You and Texas Two Lane. Clark Hagan (local Denver producer) did the producing.  He also did a recording of Green-Eyed Lady with (original members) Bob Webber (guitar), Bobby Pickett (bass), Myron Pollack (drums) and another guy from Nashville. Sorry I don’t remember his name. Hope to have the two new songs released this winter. We are still working on the vocals.”

I reported last week on the wonderful compilation from Longmont’s Wind Over the Earth recording studio’s “Longmont Project” to benefit Longmont High School’s music program.  The new track below from Bridget Law is from that project.

This week, the Boulder Daily Camera has a story on Future Arts Foundation (FAF) and their series called Strings & Stories taking place in Longmont. Future Arts Foundation is “a nonprofit that supplies musical instruments and art materials to public schools and after-school programs.”  Strings & Stories is a concert series put together by FAF and 105.5 The Colorado Sound.

MONDAY JULY 8, 2019 — Happy July 4th, belatedly of course.  I hope you enjoyed your long weekend and got to take in some live music at one of the numerous festivals, municipal events and/or outdoor venues.  I know the storms played havoc with several shows, including Leslie Tom‘s set at Greeley Stampede that unfortunately got rained out after only 30 minutes.

Leslie will be back headlining the Colorado Playlist presents show Well-O-Rama, Aug 17th in Wellington.  I’ll be hosting this new annual event in Wellington, and will be appearing with my band, GOATZ! Also appearing will be the Devil’s Share, Sugar Britches, and Jackie & the Racket.

New this week is the COLORADO PLAYLIST on Spotify.  I’ve tried tying this to the weekly MMMM but it didn’t seem to work to attract regular weekly fans and listeners.  This will be a permanent playlist on Spotify that I’ll update regularly with new releases and older “hits.”  Enjoy
