Happy Labor Day Weekend … No rest for me however. It’s a pretty busy week here at the Goat’s office.
New music shares this week from Lara Ruggles, Strange Americans, and Chimney Choir. I got a new compilation in this week that actually came out in 2008 on Gear Fab Publishing out of Denver, that I never knew existed. I’m excited to start playing some cuts I didn’t already have from the 60’s Greeley band The Monocles who became The Higher Elevation. Very psychedelic stuff …
Besides spinning records and telling the story about our local scene on the radio, I really enjoy introducing new bands to my friends live and upfront – it’s what makes my summers such a happy time for me. My plan is to do a series of shows over the fall, winter, spring seasons where I get to team up with some of my favorite bands in the region … so I’ve stepped out and invited a few to the party. Thursday night Sept 10 THE COLORADO SOUND PRESENTS one of the region’s top touring Americana/trucker-honky-tonk country bands – Jimbo Darville & the Truckadours with rising new Americana-folk singer/songwriter Daniella Katzir at the Walnut Room in Denver.
Sunday Sept 13 THE COLORADO SOUND PRESENTS one of the hottest and most talked about roots rock bands in the region – Kerry Pastine & the Crime Scene at Avogadro’s in Fort Collins. And yes, I know it’s opening weekend … LOL. #footballgeeksrule
The Walnut Room holds a little over 100 people. Avogadro’s a bit more than 150 on the inside I believe and more outside. Both have excellent food options. Great small rooms, both of them. As with all of these shows, I intend to perform in support with my band Goatz!

This concludes the outdoor summer season at “The Mish” … I hope to see you there for this fantastic show. Nathaniel & company blew the sod off the lawn at the conclusion of Bohemian Nights at New West Fest on Aug 16. And that field held a few thousand people! What WILL they do to the 1000 that can cram in the Mish’s yard? You really don’t want to miss this.
