Colorado Playlist – S11 EP37

So much going on.  I took some much needed vacation time last week, and visited Durango/Mesa Verde with my girlfriend.  While there we attended the 3rd annual iammusicfest which also hosted the Colorado Music Summit put on by the Music District and Colorado Creative Industries.

Much love to the incredible musicians who took part, including Foxfeather, Chimney Choir, Euforquestra, Hello Dollface, Paa Kow and others.

“…musicians work several jobs to make ends meet. If we can help them increase their quality of life, that’s a good thing for everybody.”— Margaret Hunt, CCI

ROCKY MOUNTAIN MUSIC RELIEF mobilizes the Colorado music and media communities to raise funds to assist musicians throughout the U.S. affected by natural disasters.

That statement from Margaret at Colorado Creative Industries carries considerable meaning for me, and is very much a part of the underlying mission of Rocky Mountain Music Relief.

Since launching, following the hurricane that affected Houston, and from which our mission originated, many legacy Colorado musicians and venues have contributed to the cause, with much more to come.

If you’d like to contribute to helping professional working musicians affected by natural disasters in the US, US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico please reach out via the website.

VIDEO PICK OF THE WEEK

Many of our friends do not know about VuHaus, and the efforts that they and a handful of Colorado radio stations have made to elevate Colorado music to an international audience.
From VuHaus.org:  “VuHaus is a non-profit, non-commercial organization comprised of public media’s leading Music Discovery stations… that introduces emerging and established artists to new audiences.

Through a website and mobile app, VuHaus aggregates performance videos and interviews from leading “Music Discovery” public radio stations from markets across the U.S.

Unique video channels will include nationally curated playlists, local market playlists, and custom playlists from artists and others. VuHaus will also live video stream concerts and events through our partner stations.By creating exposure for these acts, VuHaus provides a unique window into the country’s most vibrant music scenes.”

Here’s a link to some videos curated by Colorado radio stations, including 105.5 The Colorado Sound, 88.9 KRFC (Fort Collins), KSUT (Ignacio/Durango), KVNF (Paonia), KSJD (Mancos) and KRCC (Colorado Springs).

Thanks to the Mishawaka Amphitheatre and KindDub for including my band GOATZ! in the offerings this month.
