MONDAY September 20 2021 – I put the mask back on. It’s a reminder that COVID is not over with us. #COMUSIC – support.
I woke up and drove west towards my “office” this morning and saw snow on the upper peaks, as if I needed a reminder that today/tomorrow is officially the start of autumn – oh, and it was 50 degrees outside. Today’s high = maybe 70. Tomorrow’s high = 70. The final live outdoor show of my season was Saturday. Welcome to autumn.
In roughly eight weeks we’ll begin the march towards the annual SOME OF THE BEST OF THE COLORADO PLAYLIST and the LISTENER BEST OF. R U READY?
I’m sure it will come as no surprise that new releases from the Lumineers (out today) and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Nightsweats will be at or near the top of our Best Of consideration, but new releases from Colorado legends Chris Daniels & Hazel Miller featuring Hazel’s long time keyboardist Dana Marsh and friends, and Leftover Salmon are sure to be contenders based on in-state radio airplay.
2021 may go down as the YEAR of JAZZ in Colorado with several incredible releases … including new releases from long time friend Mer Sal who connected with the legendary Scott Kinsey (Tribal Tech) for Adjustments, and one from Colorado drummer / composer Brennen Schedler called Keep Steppin Down – find both in CP JAZZ 2021 on Spotify.
