HAPPY THANKSGIVING & HAPPY HOLYDAYS

Friday I put up the poll for you to vote for your favorite single of the year. Typically, fan favorite polls showcase up and coming bands with rabid fans who drive the visits, and the results.  It would give me a tremendous amount of pleasure if, before you vote, you’ll listen to the Spotify playlist and discover a song or two, or three … or more that you’d also vote for.

Don’t forget to review the albums that were logged in during the past year.  It’ll be time next week to begin voting for your favorites and vote for your favorite single releases of 2019.

CP S13 EP45 2019

MONDAY NOV 18, 2019 –  this was a weekend to go out to some local shows …  Whippoorwill with Courtney Hartman, the Elephant Collective and friends, and Kerry Pastine & the Crime Scene.  Read the review here.

I got a few messages this week from listeners who wanted to know how they could stream or download the show.  There’s no way to allow for a download, unfortunately, but you can stream the show.  105.5 The Colorado Sound archives two weeks worth of the program.

I’m still trying to get details, but a post over the weekend caught my attention – it has been rumored that Colorado legend and future Colorado Music Hall of Fame artist, Hazel Miller, has opened a restaurant / blues and jazz focused music venue in Parker called Blu Note Parker.

VIDEO PICK OF THE WEEK

the Drunken Hearts have become of the top touring bands out of Colorado today. What once started out as a purely acoustic singer-songwriter project has evolved over the past handful of years into a traveling electric Americana tour de force playing notable festivals such as Electric Forest (MI), FloydFest (VA), Vertex (CO), Fayetteville Roots Fest (AR), Hangtown Music Festival (CA), Bohemian Nights at New West Fest (CO), Northwest String Summit (OR), and the band’s very own YarmonyGrass (CO).

CP S13 EP23 2019

Monday June 10, 2019

According to the Denver Post, in an article dated SEPTEMBER 14, 2018, “Denver’s music industry is growing faster than its energy, aerospace and biotech industries.”  The story was apparently culled from an academic report, “A Quantitative Analysis of Colorado’s Music Industry” (May 2018) authored by Michael Seman, PhD, Director of Creative Industries Research and Policy, University of Colorado Denver College of Arts & Media.

The essence of the article is that “Statewide, the music industry is responsible for more than 16,000 jobs and just over $1.4 billion in revenue. The most robust components in terms of employment and revenue are “Musicians, Managers, and Agents” and “Live Events” pointing to Colorado’s strength in creating music and showcasing it live.”

Thank you for supporting music FROM Colorado, IN Colorado – on stages and on the air.

The Colorado Playlist is supported by The Mishawaka Amphitheatre, and Oskar Blues Brewery. Additional support comes from the fans – you!  Please consider supporting the show by making a contribution.

If you’re a business owner in the area, and you’d like to lend your support to this program, email me at chriskmusic@gmail.com for underwriting information.

Did you miss this week’s or LAST week’s show?   105.5 The Colorado Sound archives two weeks worth that you can stream at your leisure.  They typically update their archives every Monday afternoon.

You can also stream the show in real time wherever the show is aired around the state.  See the stations and times page for that info.
