CP S15 EP10 2021

March 08 2021 – Colorado legends top the spins this week as Nathaniel Rateliff stays at #1 and Five Iron Frenzy continues their hold on the #3 position. Award winner A.J. Fullerton, named as one of the “Top 75 Blues Artists You Must Hear in 2021” by Rock and Blues Muse, DEBUTs at #2 this week.  Check it out below.

More and more news is coming out about this summer’s concert season. Breaking within minutes of posting up this morning, Gavin Dahl at KVNF (Paonia) is reporting that Telluride Bluegrass Festival will go ahead but with restrictions on attendance (2500 vs normal 12,000) and spread out over multiple weekends with no night shows and no vendors.  Talks are progressing with the town and there is no word on camping.

Hudson Gardens has announced that their summer series will be canceled for another year “…because of the strong likelihood of ongoing capacity restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”   Their post goes on to say, “We will soon announce a partnership with another local cultural organization, so the Concert Amphitheater won’t be quiet for long.”

I got word over the weekend from reliable sources that AEG exec Don Strasburg has suggested we’ll be back to normal by late July or early August.  No one knows for SURE what the summer will actually look like, but when I posed the Strasburg rumor to Levitt Pavilion executive Chris Zacher, he said “we all will be” (back to business this summer).  #eternaloptimist #fingerscrossed

Monday DEC 07, 2020 – As I sat down this morning to polish up this week’s post, news hit my social media feed that Denver’s most famous jazz club, El Chapultepec, has closed or is closing. Either way, it’s one of the most significant tragedies in this year of COVD that we just lost a place that has been open since the day after Prohibition ended in 1933.

Stay Home Silent Disco 2 presented by Tyler, the Creative has been reschedule for JANUARY 08 2021.  It’s a  way to have fun during isolation while raising money to support Colorado COVID-relief for the arts. I’m thrilled to be supporting the event in their efforts to raise money for three non-profits, including Rocky Mountain Music Relief — $1 for every view that the three streams get! CP S14 EP22 2020

MONDAY JUNE 08 2020 –I received word over the weekend from KDNK (Carbondale) that the show now airs Saturday and Sunday mornings at 5AM.  See updated stations and times.

News is starting to come in about live in person music around the region.   Conditions vary, but we are beginning to see some glimmers and pictures and testimony – expressing considerable pleasure and bands on stages.

FOCOMA (Fort Collins Musician Association) and ODell Brewing have teamed up with the Holiday Twin Drive-In Fort Collins for Drive and Jive – a weekly Tuesday night series showcasing some of Northern Colorado’s popular acts – including Bonnie & the Cyldes, Sugar Britches, The Beeves, Slow Caves, Cary Morin and Del Shamen featuring John Magnie and Steve Amadee from the Subdudes along with Nick Forster (E-Town) and Jock Bartley (Firefall).

Colorado Playlist sponsor, The Mishawaka, has reopened for food, music and movies – but in an extremely scaled down fashion.  Currently, the “Mish” can only sit 96 across their property at any one time.  Local duos, trios and the occasional band will appear on the outdoor stage.  Reservations only.  Please tip the musicians.

While some local restaurants are opening and offering live music in some form, bars, festivals and major events continue to either cancel or postpone.  Among the latest to cancel is the Boulder County Fair.  Chautauqua Boulder canceled the rest of their season as well.

At Bohemian Foundation, our focus is on building community …by coming together to create and enjoy music. Bohemian Foundation’s NoCo Music Relief Fund provides assistance for individuals in the Northern Colorado Music Community who are severely financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic
