When you have time, fire up this video playlist on your big screen HDTV … there’s about two hours of videos here. I can’t really say which is my favorite. I like each one for a different reason. What I can say is that I think these 25 videos truly represent the broad diversity of our scene.
There’s something from just about every genre and style of music on this playlist …metal, hip-hop, country, folk, pop, funk and rock from international superstars and award winners to some of the best of our burgeoning up and coming national caliber local scene. …2017 was a great year for Colorado music videos.

Building a list of the “best” or the “top 5” is always so hard for me. I like everything I play on the show, or I would not have played it to begin with. These are the 80+ album and ep releases that found their way into my playlist catalog for 2016… that I added after Jan 1 2016. There are some world class releases among this year’s crop. What were your favorites of the year? Check ’em off. Poll followsthe available lp/ep embeds I could find. There are a few missing …

I don’t often get a chance to go out for an entire day to see a batch of new up and coming bands – unless I’m working the event. Sunday I spent the day at Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins to see friends, and to immerse myself in seven hours of music from 10 bands, only three of which I knew anything about.
The event was the annual Scene Magazine “Fresh Talent Showcase,” a judged event that awarded the winner time in a recording studio, along with a pro grade photo shoot, a pro level consulting session with Yellowbright, and a slot on the Scene Magazine stage at the 2017 Arise Festival in Loveland next August.
Write Minded took home the top prize, but all of the bands brought game … Congrats to everyone who participated.

besides writing and performing original music both as the leader of the Patti Fiasco, and as part of the country-folk duo Whipporwill, Alysia Kraft is not above giving us her own personal interpretations of other songwriters’ songs.
MONDAY MORNING MUSIC MEETING
I conceived of this idea as a way for you to discover some of the new music I played on the show, and to give you the chance to let me know which of the tracks you like, and think I should keep in rotation. I get a lot of feedback from fans about what’s liked .. and what isn’t.
In order to be included in the MMMM poll, the band/artist must have an embeddable file available on SoundCloud, BandCamp (my favorite), Reverbnation or YouTube.
It’s not a competition. It’s just a gauge of how well you like the songs I added this week.
