MONDAY NOV 5, 2023 – Welcome to the 2024 new release year. Folks of a certain age might recall when new model year cars were introduced in the fall, while current year models were still on showroom floors. Sorta the same.

In about five weeks you’ll start seeing annual Best Of lists being published. Here in about two weeks I will put up the 14th Annual Colorado Playlist Fan and Listener Polls for 2023. The annual Best Of show will run DEC 30 thru JAN 05. I’ll post up the poll results and 2023 spins chart on JAN 01, 2024.

CP S15 EP05 – Video Pick of the Week

I post up a Video Pick of the Week every Monday – NORMALLY.  Sometimes a video or the performer behind it requires a bit more than simply sharing the video without comment.  In this case, the artist is a long time friend whose work I’ve admired for the past twenty-plus years.

There aren’t too many artists in Colorado, or the country for that matter, who can land and chart singles at three different radio formats.  Christopher Romero has done just that with his 2020 release “The RiverRock Sessions, landing a single on hard rock and modern country stations around the US.

Long time rock fans in Colorado know Romero as the leader of the hard rock bands Drug Under and S.I.C.K. from the first decade of the century.  Raised in Brighton, Romero is an actor, artist ,writer, director, singer songwriter / multi instrumentalist, producer & former radio personality.

His film credits include Rob Zombie’s “Halloween 2” and “Things To Do In Denver When You’re Dead” w/ Andy Garcia and Christopher Walken.

Romero has also written and produced music for tv and film, with music on A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” and the indie-grindhouse film “Killer Ink,” that features himself along with Denver radio legend Uncle Nasty and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca from Star Wars).

In “New Mexico” Romero peels off another layer … adding Americana-country-rock to his growing body of multi-genre work.  Chris and his wife Charlotte c0-produced and co-directed this video shot in New Mexico and Colorado, with help from Scotty Brown who’s been performing around the region for the past several decades.

No doubt he’ll find even more stations that will play his music with this one.
