CP S13 EP21 2019

Monday May 19, 2019

It doesn’t happen often – but it sure did this week as I was able to rip open five new tracks that are currently not available online – not on YouTube, Bandcamp, SoundCloud or Reverbnation, the sites I use to share new tracks for the MMMM (Monday Morning Music Meeting).  Artists are sending me stuff LONG before they can get them online, or in the case of Clandestine Amigo, to not put them out online for public consumption at all.

Songs from Clandestine Amigo, Dust Heart, Kyle Emerson, Coal Town Reunion, and Andy Eppler were only made available this week for radio airplay on the Colorado Playlist.  They are NOT available, at this time, online.

Coming in the next episode, new music from Alan & Martin, Courtney Hartman, Jackson Emmer, Grayson Erhard, Stillhouse Junkies and Tyto Alba.

The Colorado Playlist is supported by The Mishawaka Amphitheatre, Oskar Blues Brewery, and the Bohemian Foundation. Additional support comes from the fans – you!  Please consider supporting the show by making a contribution.

Did you miss this week’s or LAST week’s show?  You can now stream them on demand! 105.5 The Colorado Sound archives two weeks worth that you can stream at your leisure.  They typically update their archives every Monday afternoon.  You can also stream the show in real time wherever the show is aired around the state.  See the stations and times page for that info.

VIDEO PICK OF THE WEEK

I’ve been a fan of the Samples since they emerged in the late 80s, here in Colorado.  Formed, and not fully fronted, by Sean Kelly, the Samples have put out over 20 albums since their debut in 1989.  They’ve got a new album coming out soon called “Indian Summer.”  This is the first single from the album.

VIDEO PICK OF THE WEEK

Every day I discover talent from here in Colorado.  Courtney Hartman is the latest.  Per her FB page: “Acoustic Guitar Magazine recognizes her as a “distinctive guitar stylist… and a songwriter that delights and disturbs.” Her early years were spent playing folk and bluegrass with her siblings at festivals around the country. After leaving Colorado for the Northeast, Courtney joined up with folk quintet, Della Mae, touring internationally for seven years, releasing three records and garnering a GRAMMY nomination.”  She’s now back in Colorado and I look forward to seeing her perform regionally.

CP S13 EP17 2019

Monday April 22, 2019

Got pretty lucky this past week, being able to premier a new Drunken Hearts single, that will not be on their upcoming album due out this fall and is also NOT available online as of today to share.  I also debuted new tracks from Avifauna and Izcalli that are, as of today, not available online.  So, there are three new tracks to vote to either KEEP or DELETE in this week’s MMMM.

If you have no set plans for this weekend, I hope you’ll head into Fort Collins for the 11th annual FoCOMX – the Fort Collins Music Experiment.  This year there will be over 350 acts performing in more than 30 “venues.”  Expect anything and everything.  My band, GOATZ!, will be at Tap and Handle on Friday at 6:45PM.

Coming next week on the Colorado Playlist and available NOW on Spotify – a new single, Morning Train, from Grant Farm; the new video drops this Wednesday April 24 in Relix.  Disclosure = Grant Farm is a Rocky Mountain Music Network client band.

VIDEO PICK OF THE WEEK

Nikki Giron is one of Denver’s many fine up and coming young artists, and she’s a student in my music business entrepreneurship class at UCD this semester.  A cool jazz voice, a sax player, keyboardist and composer, “Heart Behind Bars” dropped last month and I am just now getting around to featuring it here.
