Monday Feb 11, 2019 – NEW EMAIL ADDRESS = coloradoplaylist@gmail.com
Happy Monday. Well, I was hoping that Colorado would represent in the 61st Annual Grammy Awards yesterday. Ron Miles and Tia Fuller were up in the jazz category, and the Wood Brothers were nominated in the Americana category. None took home the trophy. However, Denver native Matt Pike won a Grammy as part of the metal band High On Fire. They won for best metal performance. Congrats Matt!!
It’s been another week of more new releases rolling in than I can get to in any given week. Someone asked me the other day, “why not?” It’s pretty simple really: time. I can get 12, maybe 13 songs into an hour. I allow three slots per hour for brand new (D), (N) or (P) releases along with one or two current and previously played tracks (C). Add in a couple of recurrent (R) “hits” and a handful of older back catalog titles (G) from the past sixty years and you have an idea of how the show is constructed each week.
Factor in a catalog of over 5000 song titles going back to the late 50s. So, really, only the “best” titles get in .. which leads me to the MMMM. I got to new music this episode from Ryan Dart, Brothers Keeper, Don Chicharron, Bonnie and The Clydes, Corsicana and Thom Chacon.
Still in the queue for upcoming shows, new releases from SUCH, the Mossgatherers, Lucy Daydream, Hunter James and the Dirty Dollars, Eminence Ensemble, Dearling and several others.
Please do vote each week to let me know which tracks you think I should keep for future airplay.

VIDEO PICK OF THE WEEK
Whitewater Ramble may be becoming one of the most enigmatic “grass” bands in the state. Never one to shy away from ingesting a diverse pallet of stylistic influences, Patrick Sites and company fully embrace a deep southern country-rock blues vibe with a potent socially conscious and politically astute message in their latest video.
MONDAY MORNING MUSIC MEETING
Don’t forget to let me know if there’s something I should be playing on the show. I scour Spotify, YouTube, Soundcloud and Bandcamp to find you the freshest new music from around the state – hope you’ll help out by voting to KEEP or DELETE the new music shares in the MMMM each week.
