CP S13 EP30 2019

Monday August 5, 2019 – I am in the heat of festival season.  This past weekend I produced and hosted the 12th Annual Carbon Valley Music Festival in Dacono, CO.  It was the most successful in our 12 year run with easily over 4000 (est.) in attendance.

This coming weekend I will emcee the Mountain Ave Stage at Bohemian Nights at New West Fest for my 15th season.  The following weekend I will produce, host, and perform at Well-O-Rama in Wellington CO, the first of what I hope will be another continuing series of shows I’m involved with.

All that said, this week’s PLAYLIST is all about Bohemian Nights.  I presented 24 of the 80 acts scheduled to perform this year. See YouTube playlist below.

In other news:  I got an email from a station that ran the show early on for six months, and dropped it.  A new manager at that station stated they’d like to re-add it, scheduling permitting.  #fingerscrossed #CrestedButte

Monday July 29, 2019 – OK – it’s not every day that you wake up to the Governor of the State of Colorado, Jared Polis, sharing an old Denver Post interview from 2016, and saying how much he loves the Colorado Playlist.  Seriously?  I was giddy like a 13 year old and got weak knees for a second (yes, I told him that… the weak knees part). #starstruck #fanboy

If you haven’t been, I highly encourage stepping over to Colorado Music Experience .  Since leaving the Colorado Music Hall of Fame as executive director a few years ago, G Brown has launched what I consider to be the official and quintessential online archive of Colorado music history.  His daily posts about events, birthdays and more are part of my everyday browsing experience.

Monday July 22, 2019 …. Really, I’m not here. I’m fishing with my grandson. But the show must go on and I’m doing my part, even if it’s from the lake.

I’ve added a couple more titles to the Colorado Playlist on Spotify. Please let me know if there’s something I’ve overlooked. I’m up to 102 titles from 102 artists and bands. And, I’m up to 27 followers the last I looked. I’ll tinker with this for months and perhaps years to come. Please share with your friends.

WORTH REPEATING: Wind Over the Earth is a recording studio in Longmont. On July 1 they began releasing an 18 song compilation benefiting the Longmont High School music program. The album features cuts from Foxfeather, Shanna in a Dress, Clandestine Amigo, Taylor Sims (Bonnie & the Clydes), Bridget Law (Elephant Revival) and Natalie Tate to name just a few. According to studio owner, Mark Venezia, the album will be made available for a donation to the Longmont High School music program.
