CP S13 EP06 2019

Monday Feb 4, 2019 – Wendy Woo has a new album coming out.  Normally, that’s no big deal, right?  Wendy has put out a number of records in her award winning career to date.  But, in this case it’s a solo release – the first one since Angels Laughing in 2005.  It also carries a message.  I debuted the first single in this week’s show and it’s the video pick of the week.  If the single is any indication, this could be among the best of what Wendy has put out in her career.

Also in this week’s MMMM = Foxfeather, Anthony Ruptak, and Lucy Daydream.  Coming soon – new music from Thom Chacon, Ryan Dart, Brothers Keeper and more.

VIDEO PICK OF THE WEEK

The Immigrant is Westword Music Hall of Fame winner Wendy Woo’s first solo acoustic album since 2005.  While I can only imagine what the album will be about based on the title, The Weather gives us a clue.  It also stands up as among the best things that Wendy has done in her career.

MONDAY MORNING MUSIC MEETING

CP S13 EP05 2019

Monday Jan 28, 2019 – January has been a pretty explosive month for new music here at the  Colorado Playlist.

New releases over the past five weeks from the Motet, Daniel Rodriquez, Gasoline Lollipops, Anthony Ruptak and funk/hip-hop newcomers E.M.K. set the stage nicely for 2019.

There are new releases currently in the queue to be played in upcoming episodes of the show from Bonnie & the Clydes, Wendy Woo, newcomers Lucy Daydream, SW CO Americana singer/songwriter Thom Chacon and Americana country from Escape Gold, another recent discovery.

Also coming up in a near future episode of the show, an interview with Eddie Roberts (New Mastersounds) about his new Denver record label Color Red, and his non-profit work.

New music this week in the MMMM below from the String Cheese Incident, the Motet and Slow Caves.  I was way out in front of the new releases played in the first hour of the show; none of the acts have digital set up yet so they won’t show up in the YouTube or Spotify playlists either.

I updated the Colorado Playlist TV page, and YouTube playlist.

CP S13 EP04 2019

Monday Jan 21, 2019 – one of the most incredible things about the Colorado music scene is the nearly bottomless depth of talent.  Every week I hear about new bands that have been playing for sometimes years, that I never heard about before.  I also come across new organizations and communities formed to encourage support and collaboration, across genres and styles.  Two this week.

Colorado Original Band Community – This forum / group page is for Colorado fans, band members and or folks interested in learning and contributing to The Colorado Original Band / Musician Scene with open transparency. There are many different entities who are members of this page. Club / venue owners, promoters, booking agents, management, industry reps local to national and most important, paying fans. This is also a place for beginners, intermediate and expert level musicians to ask questions of any level or to post interesting, funny or educational info.

For the Love of Locals – For The Love Of Locals was started as a platform to fortify Colorado music. Founded and operated by Colorado musicians, their focus was always centered around showcasing Colorado talent, while giving fans, family and friends an easy and inexpensive way to support their favorite local artists.   Their best of Colorado 2018 Spotify playlist is worth a listen.

Every week I post up the MMMM (Monday Morning Music Meeting).  This is your chance to let me know what you think of the new songs I played on the show.  I do hope you’re enjoying this feature, and will continue to make your vote known, to KEEP or DELETE.
