August 7, 2023 – August kicks off with a festival I’ve been the entertainment director of since launching it seventeen years ago, the Dacono Music & Spirits Festival. And, after seventeen years it takes longer to recover from a day spent in the elements managing the show. UGH. But, today is Monday and here’s what’s up…

Beginning AUG 27, the Colorado Playlist will be aired statewide Sunday nights at 7:00 PM on 91.5 KUNC. That adds another fifteen markets that the show will be aired in, bringing the total up to forty-five frequencies statewide. See stations and times page for details.

MONDAY JULY 31, 2023 – I won’t say that Aug 5th is my official retirement party, because it isn’t – but it is a soft retirement, as I get set to move to Grand Junction in the coming months.

I’m very excited to host my 15th Dacono Music & Spirits Festival on Sat, Aug 5th with the Record Company, Patti Fiasco, Musketeer Gripweed, 2MX2, Shelvis & the Roustabouts, and Eric Golden, along with our annual opening / set up youth band from Castle Rock.

MONDAY JULY 24, 2023 – We’re home. What a trip! NW Colorado is as unique and beautiful a place as there is in our state – and most of the rest of the region tbh. Claire had one night, our first after driving nearly five hours, to shoot clear vistas and stars. Rain and/or clouds obscured the night skies the rest of the week. Oh well – next road trip is mid-August to Mesa Verde for the Persied Meteor Shower.

Speaking of Mesa Verde, KSJD, serving the Mancos/Cortez and four corners section of the state, will NOT be airing the Colorado Playlist for the foreseeable future. Please continue to support this locally programmed community station as I wait for a new slot for the show to open up.

I need your feedback. Despite the really nice number of you who visit weekly, the MMMM has been receiving fewer votes. REMINDER – the MMMM was designed to gauge what you think is the BEST of the Colorado Playlist new music every week. A highly favorable “like” sticks around for future plays. A highly disfavorable vote means the song is more likely to disappear from my library.
