Colorado singer-songwriter Jill Sobule passed away at 66 in a Minnesota house fire, with memorial plans pending later this summer.

News hit us hard this past weekend when we learned that native Colorado singer-songwriter, Jill Sobule, passed away on May 01, at the age of 66, in a house fire in Minnesota. She was scheduled to perform the next night at Swallow Hill Music in Denver, where she learned to play guitar as a teenager.

Although not inducted, The Colorado Music Hall of Fame is planning a memorial for Jill later this summer.

I NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE. The Colorado Playlist is the only show representing and promoting Colorado music statewide. Your support is now critical to keeping it on the air. Please make donations via venmo at chrisk-2 or use the form below. Thank you, sincerely – chrisk

Here’s this week’s MONDAY MORNING MUSIC MEETING comes courtesy of Starr’s Guitars in Cedaredge.

Every year I debut approximately two hundred new current-year songs.

Every week I have to make decisions about what to keep to play again and what to archive.

Let me know what you think of the debuts (D) I shared in the show this week.

Results enter into determining which cuts stay in the library and which cuts might eventually make it to the annual Colorado Playlist Fan & Listener Poll and the “some of the best of the year” show.

A PERSONAL PLEA

A holly-daze favor please … I don’t usually do fund raisers for the Colorado Playlist .. but it’s not free to keep going, and I’m mostly retired now, so the costs are really eating into my retirement money. I’m happy to accept donations via Venmo at chrisk-2, I’d be honored if you’d purchase the only holly-daze single I’ve ever released (name your own price) or use the donation form below. Thank you …
