Monday NOV 16 2020 – This past week I worked diligently to distill the incredible crop of music that was harvested this year from our region.  I managed to distill it down to 50 song titles from over 200 LPs, EPs and single releases for you to vote on beginning next Monday, November 23.  I also managed to build a list of 40 videos for you to vote on.  Cya next Monday.

NOVEMBER ARTIST TO WATCH FOR – DAFNA … Dafna has amassed over 400,000 spins on Spotify alone.  A 20 year old CU Boulder student, she  has also collaborated with several other artists, making waves in the EDM scene with Covex (Taste of Love, Jealous) and Mielo (Lonely Game)    She has 1400 followers on YouTube. The official lyric video for let you go has just shy of 14,000 plays.  As of November 9th,the same song has 195,000 Spotify spins, while Valentine has 281,000 spins.

TOP 30 OCTOBER 2020

There are over 20 FM and LPFM (low power FM) non-commercial public/community and college stations in Colorado.  I’m able to track spins at 14 of those stations that have some kind of searchable online database or use Spinitron.

I tracked 200 releases (LP, EP or Single) for the month of October.  A few were advance singles that I got to share on CP network, or that stations got to share in advance of release dates in July.

Cary Morin and Gasoline Lollipops remain the top 2 album titles for the second month – swapping places at 1 &  2.  All the (D) we see listed come courtesy of Indie 102.3, which stands alone in the number of spins they give their monthly featured artists.  No other station in Colorado even comes close in the number of spins they give #COMusic – though other stations air more unique titles overall.
