Monday May 10, 2021 – Once again, I’m writing early… I’m off visiting Westcliff and Salida this week. This week’s visits include KLZR Westcliffe where you can hear the show Sundays from 2-4PM and KHEN Salida, which airs the show Saturdays from 5-7PM.

WEST SIDE JOE & THE MEN OF SOUL lead a wholesale change in this week’s TOP FIVE spins, among the thirteen stations surveyed from May 2 through May 8. Their single “Vacate My Heart” is popular too on Spotify with over 11,000 spins. The link is to their Bandcamp page.

The new singles from Cole Scheifele (pronounced “shife-lee”) are at #2 thanks to being featured this month on Indie 102.3. I would imagine other Colorado radio DJs liking Cole, who instantly falls in alongside Gregory Alan Isakov and the introspective sensitive side of Nathaniel Rateliff. His link goes to his artist YouTube page instead of the album, which isn’t due out until July.

CP S15 EP13 2021

Monday March 29, 2021 – It’s been estimated that there are over fourteen thousand songwriters in Colorado who are registered with one of the top three performance rights organizations (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC). That is all to say there is a LOT of music in our state.

Over the past 30 days I tracked radio airplay for over two hundred individual titles, singles, EP or LP. I will be publishing the March TOP 30 in a few days. Of the over two hundred titles I tracked airplay for, ninety received at least one play at one of the thirteen stations I monitor weekly.

Not much movement in the weekly TOP 5 with Nathaniel Rateliff and A.J. Fullerton looking more and more like the TOP 2 albums leading into the spring. In the meantime, A.J. Fullerton is sitting at #1 in Colorado album titles this week at RootsMusicReport.com.
